Frequently Asked Questions
Where are you located?
I currently operate a fully telehealth practice. I am able to provide tele-therapy services via a secure online platform for clients located in the state of North Carolina.
How much do you charge per session?
My session fee is $145 per clinical hour (50 minutes) and $170 for an intake (90 minutes). I accept payment through a credit or debit card. Most FSA or HSA cards can be used for therapy services.
Do you accept insurance?
I currently do not accept insurance. However, I am happy to provide you with the necessary paperwork for you to submit an out-of-network provider claim form. I have listed some of the important questions to ask your insurance company if you are curious about how much they will reimburse you for our sessions.
Questions to ask your insurance company:
1. Does my plan cover mental health benefits? Does that include couples and/or family therapy?
2. How much do you reimburse for an out-of-network provider?
3. Do I need to meet a deductible before reimbursement occurs?
4. How many sessions will be covered or reimbursed?
5. Is approval needed from my primary care provider?
6. Where can I access the out-of-network claim form and how do I submit the form?
Are our sessions confidential?
Building trust between a client and the therapist is essential to successful therapy. While our conversations are confidential, there are a few limits to confidentiality. I have provided the reasons therapists may have to break confidentiality, with or without client consent due to ethical and legal regulations in the state of North Carolina.
Limits to confidentiality:
1. Suspected child abuse or neglect.
2. Suspected abuse or neglect to an elderly or disabled person.
3. If you are a threat or danger to yourself or another person.
4. If I am subpoenaed by a court of law.
